youtube analytics

So just in case you were like me and wondered where the hell all your youtube earnings went on adsense, listen up. As of April 1, Google Adsense has moved all of it’s adsense earnings reporting to the Youtube Analytic Tool. All future revenue reporting for your youtube videos and whatnot will be found in that tool. Your payouts will continue to be payed out by Adsense but the reporting can only be found on youtube, which isn’t a big deal but I wish they would have warned me. Maybe they did and I missed the memo. Anyway hit the link to checkout the Youtube Analytic Tools and the other to learn more about the change.

Okay so after I updated  my iPhone to iOS 6 airplay didn’t work with my Apple TV. If you’re reading this I’m assuming yours isn’t working either. Oh and let me guess you are probably on a Verizon Fios customer. I did a little bit of research and it turns out there is a setting in some Verizon Fios routers called IGMP Proxy which is enabled by default. If you disable this setting it will get your airplay back up and running in no time. If you don’t subscribe to Verizon Fios you can still try and disable this feature but you are on your own when it comes to how to accomplish that. Here is how it you get it done on a Verizon Fios router.

I love coffee. I wouldn’t say that I’m addicted to coffee but it’s something that I usually enjoy on a daily bases. Coffee is a very interesting drink in that is a science to make a good cup of coffee. As soon as you think you know what a good cup of coffee is you experience something that blows your mind and makes you rethink what it means to have a good cup of coffee. I am not a coffee expert by any means but let me share with you three coffee roasters that have been blowing my mind in recent months, and here they are in no particular order.

I think it’s a sign that you ‘re getting older when your childhood toys begin to become collectors items. This came to my attention when making a recent purchase of the board game Crossfire, also known as CROSSFIYEAAH! A friend at work purchased one and I was instantly jealous which caused me to start stalking some ebay Auction. I was a little shocked to find out that a Crossfire game with most its parts will run you at least $50-$60 bucks on ebay if you’re lucky. People on Amazon want at least $99 for one and they aren’t even new.

Crossfire, as I know it, is a little bit different than the original from 1971 which was a little lack luster in appearance and didn’t feature a curved playing surface to facilitate the metal balls returning to either side. Other than that the game hasn’t changed much. I think what made the game so popular was the commercial that ran in the mid-90′s. It featured two boys, in what we can only assume is the future, flying into the smoke and fire filled Crossfire arena on large Crossfire pucks, surrounded by a crowd of cheering people. They begin their epic Crossfire battle with the looser spinning and flying off into the distance in defeat. Of course who can forget the theme song and tag line “Crossfire… you’ll get caught up in the… Crossfire”…followed by a long scream of CROSSFIYEAAH at the end of the commercial.

All of that to say I hope I don’t have many more nostalgic moments from my childhood because I don’t think I can afford it.

I can’t get enough of sunglasses. I have glasses that range from $250 to $5 and each of them have their time and place in my wardrobe. Knockaround is a cool and fun sunglass company out of sunny California that has just about any color combination that you could want in the classic “Ray Ban” style sunglasses. They also sell aviators for those of you who don’t care for the Ray Ban style. Their glasses range from $7 to $34 allowing you to purchase several and not have to worry about loosing them or beating them up hence the name “knockaround”.

Their most expensive is a custom shade that allows you to choose the color of the left arm, right arm, front, and lenses, from a list of about 25 different colors. These glasses are awesome and a great addition to anyone’s sunglass collection. Check them out and like them on Facebook they run deals from their fan page that can save you some money.

Everyone has heard of Instagram, but Yenztagram is something completely different. Yenzstagram allow you to put well known pittsburgh celebrities, places, and things right into your pictures. Not that much fun for people who don’t live in Pittsburgh, but a fun novelty for those who do. Mentioned on the 96.1 Kiss Freak Show, it’s sure to be a hit in the 412 in no time at all. Their name is a little bit unfortunate however, when you type it into the app store it forced you to search for instagram, so you will just have to follow this link.

I have to say that I have been very impressed with 21st Amendment’s beers. I have yet to drink a brew of theirs that I didn’t like. So far I have had the opportunity to have their Monk’s Blood, Hell or High Watermelon, Back in Black, and Fireside Chat. All of which or unique and set themselves apart from other beers of the same style. They brew with some interesting ingredients which include things like dates, like in the Allies win the war, and figs, like that in the Monk’s Blood which also has vanilla bean, cinnamon, and is aged in oak.

21st Amendment is a 12 year old brewery out of San Francisco that gets it’s name from the Amendment that repealed Prohibition something founders Nico Freccia and Shaun O’Sullivan find they connect with. According to their website there use to be 40 breweries operating in the city limits in the early 1900′s, but because of prohibition there are currently only 8 with a population that has more than doubled. The 21st Amendment stands for the right and freedom to brew beer and with that all the creativity and community that comes with it.

So I sort of refuse to jailbreak my iPhone. It’s just against the whole console archetype that I love so much about the iphone. So when Chrome for iPhone came out I was really tempted to jailbreak my iphone just so I could make it the default web browser which you can’t do with the standard iOS.

There is a simple work around however that can give you an easy way to open links in Chrome with two taps, which isn’t too bad for not jailbreaking your iphone.

Okay I stole these steps from here so big props to them.

Copy the line of code below:
javascript:location.href=”googlechrome”+location.href.substring(4);

  1. Create a new Bookmark of any page
  2. Open the Safari bookmarks, click “Edit”, and edit the new bookmark.
  3. Rename it to “Open in Chrome” or something like that.
  4. Delete the URL that’s there and paste in the above code.
  5. Then tap on the Done button, followed by “Done” buttons again.

This will get you a bookmark that will capture the URL and open it in Chrome. Not as good as making Chrome your default browser but it works and makes short work of it.

Enjoy,

Not every Mashup tshirt on the web now-a-days is a hit, but this one is pretty awesome. Two things I love Conan and the IT Crowed. It’s sad that the IT Crowed is officially canceled but you can remember the good old time with this shirt from Ript. The guy that did the design is also selling it on his site so if you didn’t get to see this post today 8/1 then you will have to go see him for the goods.

enjoy,

So I went to Dormont Lanes last night to get a little practice in before the “Bowl for Kids” event we are doing at American Eagle. In looking for information on the location it’s amazing that this place doesn’t have a website. Makes you wonder how a place can be in business without a website in this day and age.

Anyway the place is pretty cool. Even though it’s super retro and dirty/getto, but it’s BYOB and pretty cheap. Monday nights they do a bring a friend night where you can get games for $4 bucks. Their hours are a little weird so here is pic of the hours for your connivence. I believe close is around 11PM most nights.
